Today, I’m going to talk about NYC’s bus and taxi. MTA New York City Bus is a bus service that operates in all five boroughs of New York City as NYC subway, so if you understand that how to use the bus system, you can travel very easily New York City. I already talked about the unlimited card and 24 hours operation at the previous posting. You can also use the card for MTA NYC bus for 24 hours. When I was in New York, I prefer taking a bus because NYC bus is cleaner than NYC subway. NYC buses have different things with Seoul buses. Seoul buses have ring bells in the buses for stop signal, but NYC buses have black or yellow signal belts and strings. If you want to make a stop, don’t try to find bells. Try to find belts or strings and Push or pull them. And one more different thing is that you need to open a backdoor yourself for getting off a bus. Some buses have automatic backdoors, but that is not common, so don’t wait for automatic backdoors.

Have you seen yellow taxies in American movies? I guess the background of movies is New York City. The yellow taxi which called as yellow cab is one of famous symbols of New York City. I used the yellow cab only one time for a restaurant reservation, so I don’t have many experiences about that. However, if you have many money and want convenient, I highly recommend it. Then, one thing, you have to remember. That is a tip. You have to tip 15% of your fares for a driver. If you do not tip, you will be in trouble.
